Hi, I'm Maria
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. I’m an expat living in Rome, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
Origins of the Move
Moving to Italy wasn’t planned for the long haul. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were tough — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complex than they needed to be.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Created KindMeadowStudio
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Website Is (And Not)
What this site encompasses:
- Hands-on insights from life in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Italy continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains helpful, I will keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, don't hesitate to contact me.
